Does anyone know if tax is paid on gift cards in the state of WA? I live in WA but do most my Albertson’s shopping in OR but won’t be able to this week. I’m assuming no and that tax would be paid at store level. I need some Home Depot cards and this looks like a good time. Can you get more than 1 gift card at a time or separate transactions? Thank you!

Karrie September 7, 2011 at 8:58 pm: I dont remember paying tax on gift cards in WA state last time this deal was around, so I would say no. I would do separate transactions as they are printing as a catalina. Split it up to get more cats!

Got $2 off of next meat purchase catalina with purchase of 10 Hamburger Helper boxes. I am not waiting ’till Sun to use doublers for HH. The quantities are limited as “while it lasts”. Even with regular coupons 9 boxes are 25 cents and 1 box 50 cents( I used $.075/3 coupon) plus catalina!!!!

Last time I shopped at Albertson’s in St George, UT I was told they were no longer using the Preferred Cards. The cashier told me I could throw it away, and she didn’t know when or if they would be using them again. This was maybe1-2 weeks ago. Anyone hear anything similiar?

They also said I couldn’t use my printed coupon because they couldn’t see the watermark and wouldn’t get reembursed. I’ve never had this problem before either.

Sena September 9, 2011 at 7:25 pm: I just saw a commercial promoting the preferred card here in Washington. I think you may need to find another line with another cashier when you buy your items. Maybe you have the old rewards card?

went to the dollar store this morning to get the advanced Sunday Seattle paper..not one of the papers had any coupons in them!!!! they were in the store in a basket I even dug down to the bottom of the basket..NONE!!!

Who knows anymore. Everyone kept saying we were supposed to get them but I havent seen any in the Seattle Times. Others have posted they got them in their papers. Now I am seeing a post about printing doublers off Albies facebook page, but not printing anymore. I am located in Yakima, and have always been able to get doublers from Seattle Times, but now I dont know whats up
