This warm buttery freezer friendly garlic bread will bring back memories of childhood and comfort food!
When I’m cooking, I often get reminded of memories from when I was little. When I was preparing this freezer friendly garlic bread recipe, I couldn’t help but laugh because I was reminded of all the times we ever had spaghetti growing up.
When we were toddlers (this part I definitely don’t remember on mine own) my mom would chop our spaghetti in the food processor to make it easier for us to eat. Plus, the long noodles got everywhere and made a mess.
I giggle now thinking about the first time she didn’t do it. My older sister’s eyes got as wide as saucers and she slowly looked from her plate to my mom with a look of betrayal on her face. My mom was confused and asked her what was wrong. My sister was close to tears (maybe 12-13 years old, mind you) and said, “Why isn’t the spaghetti normal?”
You could tell my mother was working hard to not laugh. So, my mom apologized and said she thought she might like to try it the grown up way. Nope, my sister wasn’t having it. She quietly got up with her plate and went into the kitchen. A minute later my mom follows and a few minutes after that, my sister comes out with a smile on her face and a place full of finely chopped spaghetti.
Yes, she eventually grew out of it as we all did but it’s still funny to think back on. I’m sure many of us have those types of stories about our families, especially when gathered around the dinner table.
Anyways, I remember my mom always made her own garlic bread for these spaghetti dinners and it seriously was amazing. Sadly, my mom was too busy the day I made this freezer friendly garlic bread so I couldn’t give you the exact recipe she used. However, I’m pretty sure I got pretty close because it tasted just like hers.
This freezer-friendly garlic bread recipe is super easy and most likely much cheaper than buying the pre-made kind. I assure you, it at least tastes better!
