Safeway Post Cereal Catalina

Update: Sorry everyone! I made an error — the Post cereal was indeed $1.47 (I made the error earlier on in the week, on the Safeway Wednesday post, and that error carried on to this post! I did purchase it thinking it was .99 each, and didnt even look at my reciept –So sorry!! It was unintentional.)

Safeway is having their 2 Day only sale Saturday and Sunday.

I purchased 3 boxes of Post Honey Bunches of Oats for $1.47 each and out printed a $1 coupon for on your next shopping trip catalina! What a nice surprise!

Fixed this now: Deal scenario: Buy 3 boxes Honey Bunches of Oats on sale for $1.47 {ends tomorrow 12/6}
-use $1/2 coupon from 12/6 SS
=Pay $3.41, get back $1 catalina! (like paying .80 per box!)

Also keep your eyes open with the Sierra Mist 2Liters…everyone I saw had a .50/1 peelie coupon on it! The 2Liters are on sale for .69 limit 3 , use the peelies and you only pay .19 per 2 LITER!!!!15 Comments

  1. I went to Safeway today and got an ad there and it said the Honey Bunches of Oats were $1.47. So I’m confused. I would have loved to have paid just .99 per box!

  2. I think that you are fabricating deals to make yourself look better. Many times I read your blog and the deals you are posting are either unethically obtained, not for this area, or just complete B.S.. If you are going to be advertising yourself as a coupon bargain diva in the newspaper and on TV, at least make sure your deals are right and doable by the average person.

The H.B.O cereal is indeed advertised at $1.47 for the special deal. I would like to know which store you went to to get this particular deal.

  3. Mary

Thank you for pointing out the error in the H.B.O cereal deal, I fixed it right after I saw your comment. Sometimes I might make a mistake, I’m human. Its really offensive that you feel that I am “unethical” or lying to make myself look better. I have been teaching these coupon classes to church groups, low income family groups, and other needy organizations. Many times I receive no compensation for this service. My site is visited by readers all over the US and not intended to be a Tricity site only. I search hundreds of blogs daily to try to post the deals I feel are the best. I always link back to the source and this is a common practice. I don’t need a website to make me look better, I have a loving family and husband and thats all I need.

  4. I did 2 transactions. Bought 2 H.B.O.(Pecans included!) for $2.94. Used $1/2 coupon. Paid $1.94 and got $1.00 catalina. Bought another 2, used $1/2 coupon and $1.00 catalina. Got back another $1.00. Total spent $2.88 and I still have a $1.00 catalina!

  5. wow….what Christmas spirit, Mary. I just happened to be looking through a friends blog site and found Karrie’s site. We are all human and should allow each other to not be perfect all the time…..

  6. Wow! I am not entirely sure what Mary is talking about. I have NEVER seen one of your deals to be “unethically obtained” or “BS”. I never assume that a deal is going to go perfect, everything varies from store to store and I use your site as a starting off point. I would think someone would really have to be searching to find things wrong with your blog or your posts. Just out of curiousity, I would love to see which deals she is talking about.

Anyway, thanks for all your hard work! Most of us understand that you are providing a service to help point us in the right direction. Merry Christmas!

  7. I agree with Melody…some people are just ungrateful. Thank you for all of your hard work, Karrie! Don’t let one person’s bad attitude get you down!

  8. I don’t know what Mary’s problem is either! If she doesn’t like your website then STAY OFF, figure out your own way to get those good deals. Karrie is doing this out of the goodness of her heart and probably because she is slightly addicted 😉 like many of us are or are fast becoming! She is human and like ALL of us makes mistakes…

    No worries Karrie!

  9. Karrie, it’s so easy for most of us to look at the one negative comment and focus on that, when 99.9% of our feedback is positive!

I hope you know how loved and appreciated you are, and how much of a difference you make every day. My family eats well and lives well with your help, and you don’t even know it. I would never do for myself what you do for me.

    THANK YOU!!

  10. Just a note to say thanks for all your hard work & effort, Karrie! Many of my friends have attended your classes and speak highly of you. I enjoy following your blog & finding out about great deals. I’m just starting out with this coupon thing and taking it slowly. You are helping me navigate it all and it is very much appreciated. Merry Christmas!

  11. As an “average person,” I want to thank you, Karrie for saving my family literally hundreds of dollars over the last 4 months. I was to the point where I was feeling the need to get a part-time job, sacrificing time with my family when my husband is at home in the evenings, so that we could stay on budget and get on top of bills. Thanks to your couponing class and your blog, I was able to save my family enough money to keep me at home where I am needed. I can’t thank you enough, Karrie.

Hope at the end of the day, you’ll see that the one complaint just made the rest of us stop to give you the compliments, thanks, and pats on the back you’ve been deserving all along.

  12. Though I haven’t taken one of your classes personally I know many who have and have learned so much from you. You are truly a blessing to all of us. Your website is also a blessing and greatly appreciated. Please don’t let those negative comments overshadow the true purpose for your classes and website.

  13. Karrie, So many have said it perfectly, but I too appreciate what you have been able to do for my family and out of the goodness of your heart. Thank You!

  14. Your so lucky to have such loyal viewers. Keep up the good work…not good but GREAT WORK. You are a great human.
(Why don’t you make a mistake and book airline tickets to come see me. I will forgive you)

  15. I just wanted to tell you all THANKS SO MUCH for all the words of encouragement and support. I love you all!!
