I received an email this past week from a reader about donations that are needed right now for the Benton Franklin Domestic Violence Shelter for Women and Children. Here is what she said:
“This is Jennifer Henley, president for the MOMS club of Pasco. Over the past few months I have been donating extra items in my stockpile to the Benton Franklin Domestic Violence Shelter. Today I asked them to email me a list of items they need and wanted to share it with you. Didnt know if you would be interested in sharing it with your readers and/or friends in case they have extras as well. I would also be happy to coordinate with people in the tri-cities to be a drop off point or arrange to pick up extra items and take them to the shelter. Feel free to give out my personal email address: [email protected] if someone is interested. I can personally vouch for the shelter. I was at the business office today and they had two travel size deodorants left and no tampons.”
Here are some of the things they are currently low on as shared by the Shelter:
make up, but not foundations
bath salts, or bath beads, or anything fun that our clients would enjoy, but would not be able to afford themselves.
hair clips, and sprays
mac and cheese
instant foods such as rice mix, potatoe dishes, side dishes
Hopefully if you have more of these items than you need you will consider sharing with those in need. Thanks for the email Jennifer.
