Wow. I’m totally amazed that both of my coupon classes I posted on Saturday were sold out within 24 hours! I has no idea how much demand there was here locally. I am looking forward to the classes and can’t wait to show you all my hot tips + tricks to saving money at the grocery store.
I did recieve an email from someone that mentioned that she was disappointed that I was now charging for some of my coupon classes. So I wanted to address this concern with you all as there might be some of you with the same concerns out there.
First off I wanted to share that unlike some other blogs out there I receive no compensation from the newspaper. The local Tri-City Herald newspaper used to offer me some compensation (and I then offered all my classes for free-and did classes up to 3-4 times per week!). But the local paper cancelled their contract with me about 6 months ago. In fact now I lose a little money by offering these classes since I have to provide materials and gas (but at least with the canned goods donations it makes me feel like I can do something for a great cause!) So, due to reader demand I decided to offer a free class to those who wanted it, but am limiting myself to only one per month, with a fee for any other classes.
My time is very limited with my 4 kids in sports and church activities. If I were to teach free classes again for no compensation it would take time away from family and my deal blogging too. I hope you can understand that this was a big decision for me and took months of thought. I struggled with offering classes for profit, but I get requests for classes nearly daily and am a softie…I hate saying no!
Thanks again for following me and I hope you understand my reasons for offering some classes for profit.
