I was so upset today to find out that Weekly Cinema is no longer processing or redeeming movie tickets on Hip2Save. Even if you already had them ready to go you will not have access to them. I am so angry as I personally had at least 15 codes ready to be used. I have posted many of these deals through Groupon or Tippr so I wanted you to be aware of this. I am absolutely shocked and angry.
Here is what it says on their Weekly Cinema’s website:
The future of Weekly Cinema is under review. While this review is being performed, we are not able to process or redeem movie ticket coupons. We are working with our deal site partners to achieve a refund for the unused movie tickets and promo codes in your Weekly Cinema account in an amount of up to the price paid for each of the unused movie ticket coupons.
A Hotline phone number to provide additional information about Weekly Cinema is being set up. Please provide your Weekly Cinema email in the box below if you would like us to email you when an update is available.
Otherwise, check the site later today for further updates.
What can you do to get your money back? Contact the deal-a-day site you bought it from and they should issue you a refund. Here are their phone numbers.
Groupon (877) 788-7858
Tippr (866)-347-0752
Living Social (877) 521-4191
P.S. This stinks!
I bought on groupon and on Tippr. The people at Tippr were fantastic – gave me a credit (even though it was after their 30 day rule) and gave it for all of my unused as well as an extra $5 for my trouble. Groupon is currently trying to work out a deal that you can use your groupon directly with fandango – we should get an email later today. They said if I wanted they would refund to my card right away though. As much as it sucks at least the deal sites are doing their best to make it right.
I got an email from Groupon that said they couldn’t work out a deal to use the tickets, so they will be refunding my money directly to the card that I used. They said it should take about 10 days for me to see the refund.
My refund was on the account yesterday and I didn’t even have to call.
