Ingredients

  • 2 boxes cake mix with ingredients listed on the box
  • 2 cans chocolate buttercream frosting or make from scratch or make from scratch with this recipe
  • 25-30 peeps multiple colors. I like to use the 5-color assortment.
  • 1 family size bag of Easter m&m's 1 pound or larger

Instructions

  • Using your favorite cake recipe, bake two 9-inch round cakes.
  • Take out 2 cans of frosting - or make a batch of my favorite homemade frosting
  • Once the cakes have cooled, frost the top of one cake. Then place the other cake on top of the frosting. Now frost the entire double-decker cake. Transfer your cake to a cute cake platter!
  • Take Easter marshmallow bunny peeps and stick them to the side of the cake in a colorful pattern.
  • Pour a big bag of Easter M&M’s all over the top of your cake until you’ve covered up all that yummy chocolate frosting.

Notes

  • Chill the frosted cake in the fridge for 30 minutes. This helps the frosting to set and stay in place.
  • Use a cake lifter to lift and move your cake. It’s like a giant metal spatula you slide underneath your cake.
