Many people ask me how to save money on Printer Ink, because as couponers we are printing tons of coupons! This can get expensive if the ink is pricey. One of my favorite places to order ink is through Carrot Ink. Their prices are great, sometimes I have saved up to 50% off the cost.
I bought a used Samsung toner-style printer about 5 months ago from a friend. I love it because I can print up to 2000 pages before I have to change the toner. However at Staples or Office Max I would have had to pay $99-$110 for this toner. Yikes! At Carrot Ink my cartrige is only $58.00 and free shipping with any order over $25. That is nearly 50% savings for me!
When I had a Canon printer before this one, I would buy refill kits and refill my own inks. You can buy ink refill kits and do it yourself! The kits were only around $11-$15 and I could refill about 6-8 times on that. The savings by refilling yourself are amazing. Refilling the ink was a little bit messy the first time I did it until I got the hang of it. Basically you use this little screw-driver tool that the refill kit comes with, and make a little hole into the ink (where it tells you to). Then there is a needle that you get ink and deposit into the ink cartridge. Its that easy. Of course I would also watch for sale like free refills at Walgreens, ect too.
If you dont want to refill your ink I would still use Carrot Ink to purchase cartridges. They seemed to have the lowest prices I could find for my cartridges.

I buy the refill kits right at Carrot Ink..just search for refill kits.
Karla…that is so interesting…it just shows you that there are so many different inks and prices out there. Both the kinds I used were cheaper at Carrot Ink. Have you tried refilling yourself?

Boy, a couple dollars more expensive than if I go to Staples or Walmart for my ink. Too bad, I’m always looking for cheaper ink.

Where did you get your refill kits? I’ve never did it myself before but I’m willing to try!

You can also refil your ink cartridges at costco. and sometimes they send out coupons in their monthly coupon booklets and it is like $9 or something close to that!
