I wanted to let you all in on a little secret freebie I have been enjoying this past year. I am not paying for McAfee, Norton or any of those other Anti-Malware or virus programs out there. I am using Malwarebytes for free and it works beautifully.
I learned about this from a computer techie that came over to fix a broken laptop of mine (it got a virus…). When it was all fixed up I asked him what kind of program I should use to avoid all these kinds of issues and he said, you don’t need to pay for a program. There are tons of free ones available online. So he downloaded this Malwarebytes over a year ago to my computer and I haven’t had a problem ever since! (I do have to periodically hit scan my computer to check..but its quick and easy.)
….and it is FREE! I never pay a yearly price or anything. Its one of my favorite freebie secrets.
As I am not a computer techie myself I will tell you that I cannot be held responsible for any kinds of computer problems you may encounter, but I just wanted to share if you love FREE malware protection for your computer. I haven’t had a virus or any problems for over a year now!

Microsoft has entered the free anti-virus platform with it’s Microsoft Security Essentials software. It’s worked great and that’s what many of the techies are using now, in conjunction with something great like Malwarebytes for anti-malware. MSE is lighter on your system and uses less resources than Avast or AVG, so that is another option for you. I run it on many systems of XP and Vista and forward, and it’s been great.

People dont get viruses hardly anymore…its so..90’s. 🙂 people get malware. it mainly come across over hijacked ads on legit webpages…facebook and yahoo games are great sources, hehe. avg, norton, macafee dont protect against malware. they protect against viruses…again, so 90’s…..malwarebytes is a wonderful thing. everyone should have it.

AVG is also another great freebie. It is a virus software and will run and update daily at time that you set up. I also use Malware Byes every so often, but since, as mentioned above, it won’t scan daily automatically, I can’t rely on it completely. AVG protects you in real time as you are online. I have been using AVG free for years….pretty much every since I have been online and am very happy with it.

I work at a computer repair and we have been using avast and malwarebytes together for two years now and have never had a system come back. Just remember with the free version to scan it every so often. Even at $24 for a LIFETIME licence for the realtime scanning its still worth it!

When we had our computer fixed earlier this year, the place we took it to (PC People on Rd 68 by Walmart) told us not to spend the money on Norton or McAfee either. They recommended Advast as they use it on their personal computers. It is also free 😀
