I love this time of year because my flower garden is in full bloom. Whenever I leave the house, play in the yard, or pull into my driveway the flowers are there to greet me and make me feel happy. I do have one problem though, my flowers are taking over! What to do? What to do? I could always find one of the many unused vases I have in my garage and cut some fresh flowers for my table. Done. Now what?
They were still taking over the sidewalk, and although they were beautiful, something needed to be done.
All week I walked by my kitchen table and smiled with pride as I looked at the pretty flowers looking back at me. Finally the thought occurred to me that I should make a bouquet for a friend of mine. Hey, looking at these beauties made me happy, wouldn’t it do the same for someone else? I grabbed my clippers and got to work. I clipped the prettiest ones I could find, found some ribbon and wrapped up the stems. Added a cute tag and viola. Perfect!
I walked to my friends house, knocked on the door, and handed them over. She was so surprised! It made me feel even more happy to know that I made someone’s day.
There are opportunities all around us that we have everyday to brighten someone’s life up a bit. If you have beautiful flower beds, that can use some pruning, know that those flowers are just waiting to make someone’s day. Don’t toss them, make a bouquet! They don’t have to be perfect, even if its a single daisy…. whomever the receiver is, will absolutely love it.
Psssst…
