This three-in-one instrument is colorful, fun and easy to make! I found this clever and inexpensive idea HERE.
Items You’ll Need:
- Balloons
- Empty Clean Tin Cans
- Rice/ Beans or Lentils
- Elastic Bands
- Drumsticks or Chop Sticks
- Scissors
Place a handful of rice, lentils or beans into the clean tin can. Make sure the edges are smooth so you wont have any accidents.
Cut off the end of the balloons with scissors. Stretch the balloon over the end of the open sided tin can. You might need to help with this step 😉
Use the elastic band to secure the balloon to the tin can.
Viola! A fun three-in-one musical instrument that is home made! Your kiddos can play it by rubbing a stick along the notched sides to produce a ratchet-like sound, shake it, or use sticks to beat on it like a drum!
Happy music making!
