If you have a little girl or boy that loves to play dress up, you may want to head on over to the consignment or second-hand stores right now and take advantage of all the Halloween costumes they have on the racks. You can save so much money and build up quite a nice dress-up trunk or kit by buying during this time of year. (Of course if they are looking for a Halloween costume still…you will save a lot of money there too!)
I went to Goodwill and saw TONS of cute dress-up items in the halloween sections..including that cute tinkerbell dress that was only $2.50! I am sure if I purchased that new it would cost me around $20. They also had pink fluffy skirts, princess dresses, hats crowns and all things fun for playing dress up. For boys they had fireman or superman costumes and capes. All that were priced between $1-$3.
So head on over and check out that Halloween section at your local second-hand store. Create a nice dress up kit that your little ones can enjoy in those cold wintry months ahead.
My little guy would wear his superman shirt and cape every day if I let him.
Do you have kids that enjoy playing dress up too?

I created a dress up box for my daughters many years ago too. I gathered all kinds of costumes after Halloween… The box was stuffed! Needless to say…Santa made points that year! And, I saved tons!

We do this all year. I found a Batman outfit that pulls on for my little boy. Little vests, hats, and silly glasses are great in the dress up box too. Our box got too full and now we have to use a tote.

As you know Claire loves dress up and little Lauren is on her way to following in her big sisters footsteps. This is a great idea and one I never would have thought of. Thanks for the tip!
