Did you know next week is Earth Day? I love this beautiful world we live in but in order for us to keep it looking beautiful we have to keep it clean. That’s exactly what I taught my kids about today. After a short lesson, we grabbed some grocery bags, and went on a walk through our neighborhood in search of any kind of trash that could be found. At first it seemed like our neighborhood was pretty clean, but surprisingly we filled our bags. It felt so good to help out our community and to keep our planet looking beautiful so we could continue to enjoy it. And I must say, the kids enjoyed it too!

We did this all the time growing up (although I remember not being thrilled about it as a kid.) But it sure is nice to not just think about yourself all the time, to teach kids to do nice things for other people.
