Happy Memorial Day everyone!
Today I thought I would share some pictures of my Great Grandfather Elof Olson who immigrated to America in 1910 from Sweden. He wasn’t here too long before the first World War began and he went over to fight for America in the war. These pictures I have of him are really cool, so I wanted to share them on this special day.
He was shot in the elbow and lost the feeling in his arm for the rest of his life. But even still he was able to run his farm and work hard all his life.
MY FUN & SILLY FAMILY
I loved these silly pictures these six friends took before the war. The three guys : Elof Olson, Emil Olson, and Herbert Olson.
The guys.
The girls.
My great Grandmother Lillie Olson and two other ladies I am not sure of. Probably the other boys’ sweethearts. I love these old pictures showing how much they loved to joke around and the great sense of humor my family had even in times of war.
I am so proud of all those who risk their lives serving in the military for our country. My father was a Navy man and I was actually born while he was at sea. Our fighting troops deserve our respect and for those that gave the ultimate sacrifice-our remembrance. Happy Memorial Day!
