Ahoy! It’s a Nautical Themed Baby Shower

I’m not sure I could pick a favorite party to plan, but baby showers would definitely be at the top of my list. A sweet friend of mine is due in a few months with a baby girl so I wanted to host a little party for her. Lately I have been missing the ocean, and dreaming of sailboats, so I chose a nautical themed baby shower. A few sailboat cupcakes, a boat-shaped diaper cake,  nautical themed baby shower invitations, and some stripes pulled it all together.

The shower was set for 6:00pm in the evening so we prepared a few fruit & veggie trays, some pink bubblegum candies and some white sailboat cupcakes for dessert.

To make the sail-boat cupcakes I just cut out little triangles of paper towels which I had and skewered them with a stick. Not only were they easy to make, but paper towels are very inexpensive too!

For decor I used some burlap, a navy & white striped scarf, and some tissue paper pom-poms in pink and white.

I also created a nautical diaper cake in the shape of a boat.

My favorite part is the little white diaper flag on the back. This sailboat diaper cake served as a decoration and a gift to the new mom to be. She gets to tear it all apart and use the diapers on her baby.

The favors were boxes of saltwater taffy finished off with a strip of washi tape and stamped with a thank you.

The text is blank but if you open them up in the free online program picmonkey.com you can add in text and print them out. The fonts I used were Lobster Two and GeoSansLight.

I have to tell you, there is nothing more fun than getting to see a new mom having fun at a baby shower.

And I can’t wait for her new sweet baby to arrive…so I can try to hold her every chance I get.
