A few years ago I shared my favorite, and in my humble opinion The Best Peach Cobbler Recipe, here on happymoneysaver. It tastes just like the peach cobbler served at Andy’s Cafe for those who live in the Tri-City, (Pasco. Washington) area.We made it one night with my sister’s family and decided it was “website worthy”. So we took a quick picture (with not so great lighting) and posted the recipe. The pictures from that post did not do this recipe justice. This recipe is so good and is one of our favorites so I thought I should update it with nicer pictures so as to tempt you into making it.
Time for a funny story. When I made this exact batch of peach cobbler, I had a friend come over and eat it with me. She agreed that it really was the best peach cobbler recipe and she took the remainder of it home to have for dessert later that night. She was so excited to have her kids and husband try it. The next day I asked her how they liked it and I couldn’t help but smile to her response. She looked down.. ashamed. Shocked I said, “Did they not like it?!!?” She gathered up enough courage to look me in the eyes and admitted that she had eaten 5 more servings throughout the day and only saved 1 serving for her husband. She then went on to tell me of the deepest desires of her heart… She hoped that he didn’t see it in the fridge because she very badly wanted that last piece for herself. I laughed so hard… but only because I have been there before…. really though, who hasn’t? That’s why dessert is so dangerous to have in my house.
I hope you enjoy the updated pictures and give this recipe a try. It only requires 6 ingredients and it is honestly better than any peach cobbler that I have ever had before. It has a perfect balance of flavors and is so simple yet so complex with the textures and flavors. I dont think I have ever had a more balanced dessert. It has a delicious buttery topping, a sweet center and ends with tarty peaches. I love topping it with homemade whipped cream. This peach cobbler is pretty amazing. You can see the updated pictures and read the previous post about this recipe below. Enjoy!

A couple weekends ago I was lucky enough to spend some time with my sisters. I don’t know about your family, but when we get together there is lots of laughter, lots of games, and great food! Don’t all family gatherings revolve around food? Somehow we started to talk about a great little cafe in Pasco called Andy’s Cafe, I think the official name is Andy’s Coffee Break. It’s an old cafe – where I am sure they have a lot of “regulars” coming because they know how great the food is.
Have you ever tried their peach cobbler? It is so delish and quite different from any peach cobbler I have eaten. Well, about an hour into a very intense game of Settlers, {Yes.. I am a nerd. Deal with it.} my sisters and I started talking about Andy’s and how good their peach cobbler is. That is when my sister Ashleigh decides to inform us that she can make it. That all these years she has had a copycat recipe, if you will, of Andy’s Peach Cobbler. And the best part was how easy it was! I’m still a little irritated that she kept this recipe all to herself and why she didn’t share it sooner. In spite of her, I thought I would share it with all of you!
The Best Peach Cobbler Recipe {Andy’s Cafe Style}
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. While oven is preheating, place butter in pan and place in oven to melt.
Drain peaches and set aside.
While butter is melting in the oven, grab a bowl and combine the flour, sugar and baking powder.
Mix well and then add in milk. Batter should resemble pancake batter, so if 1 cup of milk doesn’t do it, slowly add more until it reaches the right consistency.
When oven is preheated and butter is completely melted, pour the batter on top of the butter.
Next add peaches on top of the batter.
Put pan in the oven for 1 hour and watch the magic happen. The batter bakes up over the top of the peaches and has the most amazing buttery flavor.
Break into that deliciousness right away. I love how some of my pictures captured the steam escaping after cutting it open. Yum!
Serve with homemade whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
Below I have added the printable recipe for ya! Let me know what you think of this recipe and if you love it as much as our family does.

1 stick of butter = 4 ounces
1 stick of butter = 113 grams

A couple of questions; how many ounces is a large can of peaches that you refer to and, have you ever doubled the recipe so it could be cooked in a 13×9 pan? I’m wondering the about the cooking time if doubled. Whenever I bake something for work, I always use the larger size pan. Thanks!
Happy.MoneySaver says
The large can is 29 ounces and I like to use the one stored in 100% juice. I have not doubled it (because I will eat it! 🙂 ) but I think that would work to double it in a larger pan!

OMG – This is really close to a recipe I stumbled on over 30 years ago and it is the ONLY cobbler recipe I use. Mine doesn’t call for baking powder, but I like the way it makes yours look “puffy”. Try sprinkling the top with a bit of cinnamon and a teaspoon of lemon juice. It’s also great with fresh or frozen blackberries
Kate says
Do you think this would work in a crock pot??
Happy.MoneySaver says
I have never done it in a crock pot so I am not sure it would get the same consistency as in the oven. 🙂

Hi Kerrie your recipe looks a lot like my Wonderful Mother in Laws. cup of flour, cup of sugar, 2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt, 3/4 cup milk make the batter while the stick of butter melts in a 9 x 13 baking dish, pour on the batter place the peaches, then pour the liquid from the peaches over all, bake at 350 for one hour. OMG you should try Her’s also just for comparison. I hope you do.
Thanks Reba 🙂

I definitely will try it out! 🙂

I’ve been using a recipe similar to this for years. We love it. Mine uses a can of peach pie filling, a cup of milk, a cup of flour, a cup of sugar, and a stick of butter melted in the pan. (easy to remember lol) Layer it just like yours, and YUM! I have several cans of peaches that have been sitting in my pantry, I was thinking about thickening it with corn starch to make it more like pie filling and use it for cobbler. Instead, I’ll just make it like yours with a little more flour and a little less milk. Saves me time, thanks Karrie 🙂
Karrie says
Oh you are gonna love this one April….it is SO perfect! Don’t forget the ice cream or cool whip either…mmmm.

Thanks so much! That was great and a super easy dessert for Easter. I think the next time I will probably add just a bit of cinnamon, because I love cinnamon and peaches.
Janelle says
So is it baking powder or soda? Your post saying you corrected the recipe says soda, but the recipe says powder.
Karrie says
Its baking powder. Sorry for all the confusion! The recipe as written above in the post is correct.

Very good! I tried it using whole wheat pastry flour and it turned out great!
Karrie says
Oh cool! I was wondering how whole wheat flour would taste in this. Thanks for trying it out.

Just made it! Kids are eating it as I type. Definitely would be yummy with ice cream, but don’t have any. Is still delicious & soooo simple to make! I used some peaches I canned last summer. Thanks for the recipe!

Just pulled this bad boy out of the oven, and it is BEAUTIFUL!!! My husband who will not touch a peach cobbler (unless it is his mothers) told me it was darn near perfect and he really likes it. I think it’s neat b/c I didn’t add any spice….just the sugar the recipe stated. Although, I will be making vanilla whipping cream and topping it with my cinnamon and sugar sprinkle mixure (cause I need the extra calories being preggers and all 😉 Thanks so much for this EASY recipe!!!
Karrie says
Oops, fixed that Mary!

I just tried this recipe and it was so good I ate it right up! It’s sweet but not too sweet very light and tasty. I used a 9×9 pan so the sides were a little burnt from the mix in the pan being thin. Thanks so much for a delicious recipe and it’s so easy!! I’m going to have some more!!
Mary says
Okay, so here’s my question. You say the “next four ingredients” and then add the peaches. Is there something missing on the list or did you mean next 3 ingredients? I just want to get it right so I’m not trying to be a smart aleck or anything. I would like to make this for dessert tonight but will wait until I hear from you. It sounds yummy and I have some canned peaches to use up.
