Picture this:
It’s early November.
You’re hustling the kids into bed after a long and exhausting day. Just as you’re tucking everyone under the blankets, Little Johnny pipes up: “Mommy? I need more paper for school.”
“Sure thing, honey. We’ll pick some up this weekend. Good ni–”
“No, Mommy! I mean, I need it tomorrow! I’m totally out of paper!”
You sigh as you recall the cost of paper at Office Depot last week. Not pretty.
“Fine.” You notice your head is starting to pound. Annoying, but not too bad. “We’ll pick up a pack before school tomorrow. Good night.” And then…just as you snap off the light, you hear –
“Oh and pencils. And a poster board for my science project due on Friday. Today’s Wednesday, right Mommy?”
The pounding in your head goes from a slight annoyance to a brass band on the 4th of July, and your left eye begins to twitch…
Been there, done that! 🙂

Going to Fred Meyers to get their back to school stuff this week. Composition notebooks and Crayola crayons $.25 each. Can’t ever have enough of both.

I’ve always stocked up on extra school supplies but somehow the kids need something extra that I didn’t get every year. Oh well, the rest was cheap. 🙂

Thumb drives are another must have for both of my kids. Making sure their name is on/in them is good too. I find two or three a week in our school’s computer lab and so many don’t have any documents with names on them.

It’s also a good time to buy extra things if you do the Christmas shoebox project.

It’s also a great time to restock your own office, I don’t really care if my binders have Justin Beiber on them if they are for use on my own personal stuff at home. Yes, it would be nice to have the all matching “teal dots” collection, but I’d rather have a deal. I will also be stocking up for a local club – better to get it at a steal than wait till we are all out. I can’t wait to see the match ups, Thanks Karrie

While you’re stocking up, think of grabbing a few extra items to donate to your child’s teacher for those students that may need something.

I know what you mean…I ran out of crayons halfway through the year last year. I need to stock up more this year to make sure it lasts…

All of the above! I usually get enough supplies to last the whole year, but this year my kids discovered my stash and things kept disappearing. At least they were super cheap! Looking forward to getting more…. and hiding my stash better!
