Here is the newest updated version of The Coupon Savings Tracker Spreadsheet! This makes it easy for all of you super shoppers out there to keep track of how much you are saving and how much you are spending! It is really easy to use as well; basically when you get back from a shopping trip you can just go in and enter the information from your receipts. Then the program does the rest. It summarizes your total by yearly saved/spent as well as monthly! You can enter in your monthly budget on each page and it will tell you how much you have left to spend. I love it!!! The Coupon Savings Tracker Spreadsheet does all the work for you!

How Do You Use The Coupon Savings Tracker?
I have prepared a few video tutorials this year to help you understand how to get your Savings Tracker all set up. Trust me, this will help you figure it all out. 🙂
Video for The Coupon Savings Tracker EXCEL Spreadsheet version
Video for The Coupon Savings Tracker OPEN OFFICE spreadsheet version.
To get this free download and start using it, download this spreadsheet to your computer. If you have Microsoft Excel – you will want to check which year you have and choose the appropriate year for your download. Choose to SAVE it to your computer. If you do not have Microsoft Excel I have also created a simple spreadsheet for Open Office that you can use. You can download the Open Office program for FREE here. The Open Office version of The Coupon Savings Tracker is a simpler spreadsheet but is still a great resource.
When you first open up the spreadsheet I would suggest you click on the “How To Start” tab and read the beginner instructions. I would also highly suggest watching the video tutorial for your version as this shows you step by step how the spreadsheet works.

Thanks for this tracker. I was wondering if there is any way too add more than 50 lines ? Currently it only allows for 50 and I’m already up to 29 for the month. I’m not spending as lot but I break my drugstore transactions up and tend to have a lot to track

If you want you could add a savings type that says “Gift Cards” if you have room to. Then when you actually redeem them you will count that as the savings then. But really its up to you to do it however you want to! 🙂 But I personally like to track RR, +UP Rewards and Gift Cards when they are being redeemed as a savings type.

LOVE IT !!!! You and your hubby ROCK!!! I started couponing this past summer. I knew I was saving money but didn’t really have a tool to track it. I’m such an excel tracking geek 🙂 This just made my day. We started our Dave Ramsey budget January 1st and this is another great tool to track our spending and also see the REWARD in using coupons. Plus I have a good friends husband always tease me about my couponing. I’m going to LOVE showing him what I save each month or all year with this handy spreadsheet. 🙂
THANKS SO MUCH.
One question…how do you track when you get a store gift card for buying a certain item? Ex. I went to Target bought 3 kids vitamins. I used $3.00 in Manufacturing coupons and when I bought 3 I got a $5.00 gift card to Target. Do you track the $5.00 on this purchase or when I use the gift card? I hope I didn’t confuse you…but since CVS and Target run these type of deals I would love to track how many gift cards we get and how much it saves us.

I started couponing last week and my very first shopping trip was yesterday. Your spread sheet is an amazing tool that is a great way for me to track my savings so i can prove to my husband that this hobby is absolutely worth while especially since we have a 3 month old. in my first trip i already saved $48.71 and i figured that our from your spread sheet 🙂 I also shared it with two of my couponing co workers. This tool is GREAT! thanks so much!

Hi Karrie ,
Thank you so Much for the spread sheet. I am a newbie couponer and I love the spreadsheet.
I am trying to change to store names from store1 to Babies r us in the summary tab and it is letting me rename it . (But it won’t work because I am seeing N/A) next to it.
Is there a way I can rename the store names ? I hit Control U and did n’t worked.
Thank you,
Sherry

Make sure and not hit delete in that spot, and just select it and backspace. If you deleted it might delete the formula as well, which means you would need to redownload the program to your computer and start over if you wanted to use that one. Good luck!

im sorry.. but none of the percentages or totals are making any sense when i enter them.. Am i reading this chart wrong? I have another excel that is similar and everything is adding up correctly.
i added in 2 stores and what i paid at them under january.. in every month from then on to dec of 2012, the excel sheet is stating money SPENT. how is this possible, when i clearly have not entered ANY information into those months?
also – spending $50 and saving $50 does not equal a percentage saved of 83% as the excel sheet is calculating. It should most def. be a 50% savings.
Karrie says
Hi Michelle,
The percentages on the summary page are referring to the percentage you spent per store. It is not calculating the amount of money you saved. The reason for this is people wanted to see WHERE and which store they were spending their money.
The point of the percentages is to track WHERE you are spending the money, not the percentage of actual savings.
Perhaps in the next version I will have my husband include a percentage of savings for each shopping trip if you want it, just let me know. I always like feedback to improve.
As per the Average Monthly Savings and Average Monthly Spent totals, there are numbers in each month because it is accumulative average. Basically if you were to stop shopping today it shows you your average for the entire year for 2012 . So once you finish up the first two months it will show you how much you are averaging over the first two months as well as the entire year.
Hope this helps!

Also, if you havent already, make sure you watched my video tutorial to learn how to use it. 🙂

Hi Ashlee, did you hit CTRL + U to update it? Make sure and do that, it is working for me fine.
Ashlee says
The Store Savings and Spending part of the spreadsheet under the YTD tab does not work. I have downloaded several times to see if that was the problem, and it is not calculating my savings. The Savings by Type is also not working.
lori says
I would also like to add more stores.
chrissy says
Thank you so much for this! I made my own last year but it was not nearly as great as yuors! Is there a way to ad more store names and savings types? I already reached my limit and can’t seem to add more 🙁
Karrie says
Hi Chrissy, So glad you like the tracker. Unfortunately there are just the 15 stores you can add, and the 5 savings types. You could maybe combine certain ones into one like *Restaurants* ore *Retail Stores* if you were including those. When the next year edition comes out I will see if my hubby can add more stores to the list. 🙂
Karrie says
you are welcome! Have fun keeping track of all your savings 🙂

Thanks so much for making a version for Open Office! I have a Linux box right now and sometimes have issues with other freebies because they are most often only for Microsoft compatible products.
Debbie says
Thank you for the spread sheet. I download open office and it only will let me do it in read me–so I am unablle to change any anything. I have never used a spread sheet. Can you offer any help? Thanks
Laura says
You have to save the spreadsheet once you download it and then it changes from read only to being able to edit it.

Great job on the tracker. We are spending about $200 dollars a month to feed 5 people 3 meals a day without eating out. With spending $200 a month we have created a stockpile of toiletries and paper products and some canned goods. Thanks.

Thank you, so glad you like the tracker!

I used the savings tracker religiously after every trip from January 1st until now. It has helped me keep track of my budget so much! I love it as I too love spreadsheets. So far this year I’ve saved $6800 combining coupons and sales. Thank you so much!
Karrie says
Mandi, that is so awesome! $6800 – wow, that is a lot of savings. So happy you like this tracker.
Mandi says
I just saw that you replied! I was going to tell you that I wish I would’ve had some sort of tracker in years past. I could’ve added up all the savings from every one of my 12 years (I started when I was 18) of couponing! That would’ve been impressive.
Karrie says
Oooh, yeah that would be cool. I have been couponing for around 5 years now and yeah, the savings are awesome.
