Lavender essential oil: Renowned for its calming and relaxing properties. Is a must-have essential oil in all homes. Lavender’s peaceful and restful properties promote peaceful sleep and ease feelings of tension.
Vetiver essential oil: With a unique, exotic aroma, Vetiver is known to provide a calming, grounding effect on emotions—making it ideal for massage therapy and promoting restful sleep.
Cedarwood essential oil: Helps to soothe the mind and body. It has a calming warm, woody scent that promotes a feeling of relaxation.
Water: Helps to dilute the essential oils making it an incredibly easy and cost effective sleep spray.
Glass Spray Bottle: When making homemade products with essential oils, make sure to always use glass bottles. Why don’t you use witch hazel or rubbing alcohol in your recipe?

I like this combination of oils but there are definitely other ways to make a good sleep spray. Feel free to make one that works better for you!

Use tap water, purified water, distilled water?

Hi,
Thank you for this great information.
I’ve read so many articles about using the essentials as a ‘spray’ for pillows and sheets. My concern is about the oils staining the fabrics. ??? I have a couple essential oils, including the Lavender and Ylang Ylang on the nightstand and inhale a few times before hopping into bed. Are you just misting from a distance?
Due to several yrs. of stressed adrenals I would go night after night with little sleep, even with some timed Melatonin. The oils, along with 5-HTP and L-Theanine, have helped a lot, although I waken a few times in the middle of the night or around 4 a.m. It’s definitely not healthy.
If the spray really won’t stain the fabrics, I think the idea of having them to inhale constantly throughout the night would perhaps help me stay asleep throughout the night.

What about a disinfectant spray for the Kitchen and Bathroom……

On Guard in a spray bottle works great as a disinfectant. I buy the dōTERRA cleaner and mix that with water in a spray bottle as a counter cleaner. You can also use the oils directly into the spray bottle. I could not live without my On Guard!

Those sound like a great combination. After years as an airline pilot where my sleep schedule was crazy, now thatI’m working 8 to 5 I’m having trouble getting to sleep. This should help. To pass on – if you have a stressed pet (I’m a rescue dog mom), with changes in the home or weather, eucalyptus essential oil is extremely calming – just a couple of drops rubbed around the shoulders and head (my Vet recommended).
