I have been doing some reflecting the last few days on what I’ve been able to accomplish this month in regarding my New Years resolutions.
My main New Years Resolution was to not have Fast Food or Sweets for 30 days. I lasted only 7 day (hee hee) – but 7 days is still good! Of course now I am doing my 30 day Getting Rid of My Bloggers Butt Challenge. I’m day 4 and still going strong (very very sore though…that 30 Day Shred is TOUGH!)
Plus every January I seem to get the “Organizational Bug”. I was able to accomplish a few small tasks this past month, these weren’t huge projects or anything…but here goes.
#1 – My son’s TOY zone. My son’s toys were a disaster. So a few months ago I found a toy bin organizer on clearance. This month I finally got it out and now all his toys are neatly stored. So nice!
#2 – My jewelry. I am not a big jewelry wearer…but I have been receiving some necklaces + earrings lately as gifts from family. They sat in my bathroom drawer getting tangled for quite some time until this week! I found this really cute Jewelry Organizer at Claire’s in the Columbia Center Mall. It sits so sweetly on my bathroom counter and now no more tangled necklaces. If you haven’t been to the mall lately you should take a trip, there are tons of great clearance sales happening in all stores.
#3 – My Fridge. Okay so this one isn’t exactly organizing, but I finally cleaned my fridge out. I am excited to say that my making Cold Lunches in a Day plan is working SO GREAT!
Next up – Re-Organizing My Junk Drawers again (oh and look – my pictures still say FistfulofCoupons on that post…*sigh, memories…) Perhaps that will be my next week project.
So anyways, just wanted to share some little joys in my life…who knew organizing a few little spaces could make you feel so happy??
Have you been doing any organizing this month? Make sure and take the time to think about all the great things you have done this January, no matter how small and no matter if you didn’t accomplish your goals 100%. Even doing little things can be very rewarding.

My New Year’s Resolution was also to get organized, but I wasn’t making much progress. Then we got that snow storm last week and my husband couldn’t find any gloves. I was pretty much FORCED to clean out the closet in the front entry. It didn’t really take that long, and it felt SO GOOD once I got it accomplished. It’s kind of inspired me to do more. Good luck on all your goals!

So true…once you start and finish one project it does inspire you to do more. I also was forced to clean out our front closet too — forgot about that one… 😉

Love it Sara! I love your Ikea containers, I need to do my pantry again soon. But not looking forward to that work – it will take me all day long. The tree comparison about time has really to me thinking as well, I loved it. I need to simplify my life more too. Thanks for sharing!
