As some of you might have seen I was on KEPR TV yesterday morning showing some Thrifty Tips. If you missed the 4 Thrifty Tip segments you can watch them all here.

Before you watch this though…I must warn you

1. Yes, yes I am a dork. Now you know the truth. 🙂
2. Before this show I was really really nervous. Having a camera in your face is scary!
3. I called up Chelsea and had her go shopping with me because I didn’t have a clue what to wear on TV! I think she did a great job on my outfit.
4. Yes, I am a dork, just making sure you got that loud n clear.

Also, next week I am doing a fun segment where we are shopping at Albertsons and Rite Aid and we had a blast. I am sure I will still be dorky in that segment too. 🙂 I will try to let you all know when that is going to air.

Pssssst...

KEPR advertised about Fred’s appliance contest. How do you sign up for it? I have spent time looking and looking for it. Can you help me?

I like that you have personality. You’re not a dork….and even if someone thinks you are at least you’re a richer dork for using those great ideas.
I microwave the popcorn about two minutes.

Thanks Sara, I love the homemade baby wipes. They really are so easy to make. If you want to view my whole post I did on making them with the actual recipe you can see it here.

I think you did a good job!! I’d be just as nervous! Actually I thought they did the worst job! Whats up with not showing whats actually going on?! Like when you were pouring the vinegar into the dishwasher. Would it have been impossible to actually get a shot of what you were doing instead of the side of your counter? The camera guy must be a rookie or something! Her outfit was a little hard on the eyes and the stripes moved too much since they were red. Your black stripes were much better. You did an outstanding job compared to them!!!! 🙂

Awe thanks! They had the camera on a stand when they did that segment, he prob should have taken it off and followed us. I loved working with Jennifer though – she is a total HOOT!

Hi Anna, I normally stay close to the microwave and listen for the popping to slow down. The time depends on how much popcorn you put in there too.

And Pamela, no they don’t know they misspelled my name yet. Off to email them before I forget. It is rather annoying. 🙂

Great job Karie!! you look great and I love all your tips. One question though, how long do you put the popcorn in the microwave for?

They DO know that they misspelled your name (i.e., Kerrie instead of Karrie), right? And they will fix it for the next shows, right??!! Sorry – I am an editor, and someone has to “police” that kind of thing!!!

So cool Karrie! And you are not a dork. I think you did a great job and people would love to see a daily frugal tip segment from you. Especially in our economy. Hey! You should bring it up! You might be the next local star! Hee hee.

Karrie, you look great! I can’t believe she ended up wearing stripes too, I would have thought she’d be in a suit or something 🙂 I can’t wait to see next week’s segments.

Awee, thanks! I have seen Heinz vinegar coupons…although they were only .50/1 bottle. But the good news is that at Walmart the big jug is only around $1.50ish. So that vinegar can go a loooooong way.
