I love this homemade soap bubble recipe because the ingredients are so simple! My kids had hours of fun making huge bubbles that took forever to pop! | Happymoneysaver.com

I don’t know what was more magical about this homemade soap bubble recipe; seeing the amazing, long lasting bubbles it made, or hearing my children erupt with giggles as their huge bubble formations would blow up and away.

I have tried lots of different bubble solutions and this one is by far our favorite. It works to make big bubbles (if you want to make a large bubble wand out of wire) or it makes TONS of small bubbles. The area where we live is very breezy all the time, these bubbles would fly away with the wind, however they would disappear into the sky before we would see them pop! Sometimes they would get stuck to a tree and just stay there for a minute or two before popping.

I found these bubble wands (above) at the dollar store, but these bubble wands look just as fun for almost the same price! They make huge bubble conglomerations!

My favorite part about this solution is there is only three ingredients! And I bet you have them all in your kitchen.

  • 6 cups of water
  • 2 cups of Dawn dish soap
  • 3/4 cup Corn syrup

Slowly combine all ingredients into a large bowl (be careful not to create suds). Let sit for at least an hour, but overnight is best.

Pour the solution into a large flat pan (I love to use disposable ones) and let the kids go at it!

The one thing I’m going to remember next time is to get a wand for myself! I kept having to steal the kids wands! I think I was almost having more fun than they were!

Go ahead and experiment with different wands! You can use wire hangers, yarn, cookie cutters, pipe cleaners or strainers. There are lots of possibilities! Each wand produces different types of bubbles! It’s fun for the kids to guess what type of bubble it will produce!

Karo Syrup = $0.20
Dawn Dish Soap = $0.72
Water = Free!

This makes about 2 quarts (64 oz) of bubble solution for less than a dollar. The cheapest I could find a 64 oz jug of bubbles was around $3.00. So we are looking at more than 66% savings! Plus this solution is better than any I have ever purchased. I would choose to make this even if it was more expensive!

Give this homemade soap bubble recipe a try and let me know what you think! If you are out in the afternoon, make sure to wear sunscreen, this homemade natural sunscreen is my favorite! Or if you are out in the evening, keep the bugs at bay with my homemade non toxic bug spray!

Pssssst...
