Add a bit of ketchup (tsp) and sauce will turn red, add cornstarch (instead of flour) to a bit of pineapple juice, and no worries about having to cook flour. If you want you could get a bit of juice mixed with cornstarch & put it in pan first to heat up.

Hi Karrie, I just came across your page recently and I’m making several of your freezer meals. Can the above Sweet & Sour Chicken recipe be made into a freezer meal? If so, what would you do different to freeze it if anything? Thanks so much for your help.

Hello Cheryl. Nope, this one would not be a great freezer meal because of the celery, cooked peppers and possibly the water chestnuts too.
