This is a great soap to use in your morning shower to help wake up your senses and get you energized to start your day. Plus, it is so easy to make with only a couple ingredients.
Cost Breakdown:
1 pound melt-and-pour soap base: $5.50
15 drops Breathe Respiratory Blend: $1.20
Total: $6.70
Note: There are many different kinds of melt-and-pour soap bases you can purchase. I personally like to use the ones made with goats milk, shea butter, or oatmeal due to its skin loving ingredients. You can find these in your local art and crafts store in their soap making isle. Even better, you can usually use a 40% off coupon to help keep the costs even lower.
How to make DIY Easy Breathing Bath Soap
Ingredients:
1 pound melt-and-pour soap base
15 drops Breathe Respiratory Blend
Silicone Mold
Optional: Soap Coloring
Optional: Rubbing Alcohol in spray bottle
Note: Make sure to use a coloring that is made for soap! If you use food coloring, you will ruin the soap.
Directions:
1. Cut your melt-and-pour soap base into 1-inch cubes and place into a heat-proof container.
2. Melt in microwave for 15 second intervals until all the soap is melted.
3. Add in essential oil and stir.
4. If you want to add a colored drizzle on your soap like I did, pour a small amount of melted soap into a separate heat proof container. You will use this later.
5. Spritz some rubbing alcohol on the silicone mold to help get rid of bubbles. Pour melted soap into mold. Let the soap harden (takes about an hour) and then you can remove it from the mold. If you want to add a colored drizzle, continue to step 6.
6. To add a colored drizzle, remelt the small amount of soap from step 4 in the microwave. Once melted, add soap colorant and stir until well combined.
7. Lightly drizzle the colored soap on top of the white soap. It helps if you do this over a cooling rack or on a surface where the excess drizzle can drain. Put a sheet of parchment paper underneath for easy clean up.
8. Let soap harden completely. It is ready to start using! Store soap in an air-tight container for up to six months.
DO HOMEMADE SOAPS CLEAN AS WELL?
Handmade soaps will clean just as well as conventional soaps without any of the irritation as long as they’re made with natural organic oils.
HOW DO YOU STORE HOMEMADE SOAP?
Store your soap in an airtight container in a cool dry place away from sunlight.
